Can I have some advice please?

So this guy and I are pretty good friends, we flrt a lot and he calls me silly and stuff like that. In gym e always tries to be my partner or be on my team an we alway have fun and make jokes when we are together. In math whenever we have a partner to work on a worksheet he comes an sits with me to work on it. He also looks at me then smiles and I smile back, BUT of course there is a twist to the story...he has a girlfriend dun dun dunn. They have been together since around December I think, they don't hang around together in school a lot, but they could text and hang out after school. Is this guy just confused, or sending me signals with otthig behind them?
