Does this prologue intrigue you?

Hum. I liked it until the last paragraph. It was flowing smoothly and then the last paragraph jumped out and suddenly smacked me out of the air you had set up. The writing is good--really good--and the story sounds like it could be interesting. Maybe make the flow in the last part different a little different, but I liked it. Good job.
